Going to your first yoga class can be exciting yet intimidating for some. With anything new, it is hard to know exactly what to expect. While you may be nervous, just know that we are all here to help you find your place and feel as comfortable as possible. Below are a few tips to help your first yoga experience go as smoothly as possible.

Arrive Early
It is a good idea to introduce yourself to the instructor, and let them know if you have any injuries. Letting the instructor know it is your first class, will encourage them to help you perfect your pose. It is also important to use the restroom before class so that you do not need to leave while the session is in progress.

Take Your Shoes Off
To make a better connection with the ground, it is important to remove your shoes before class. The practice of bare feet against the ground is called grounding, and it is used to naturally provide electrons to your body.

Turn Off Your Phone
While our phones have become an extension of ourselves, they are also disruptive when they go off in the middle of a yoga session. Please be respectful and turn off your phone before entering the yoga class.

Bring Your Water
Staying hydrated is important to your health, but we don’t want you leaving in the middle of class just to take a sip of water. Bring your water bottle in with you, to remain hydrated and maintain focus.
